From what you've described, pornography and excessive scrolling may not be the root problem—they may be ways of coping with overwhelming stress, anxiety, or difficult emotions. When the mind feels overloaded, it often seeks quick relief, which can temporarily reinforce these habits. Your symptoms—restlessness, overthinking, poor sleep, indecisiveness, low confidence, and feeling "trapped"—deserve proper attention. Rather than focusing only on stopping porn, it would be helpful to understand what is triggering these behaviors.
Next Steps
I recommend consulting a qualified psychologist for a detailed assessment. With the right support, these patterns can improve, and you can regain clarity and control over your life. Take care—you don't have to deal with this alone.

Pornography here sounds less like the problem and more like the exit ramp your brain takes when it’s overloaded. The insomnia, the overthinking, the scrolling, the trouble deciding things — that’s a nervous system running hot, and porn is one of the ways it’s discharging that tension. I see this pattern often: someone tries to white-knuckle the porn use without touching the anxiety underneath, and it just resurfaces somewhere else — more scrolling, more restlessness, more nights lying awake replaying the day. Worth actually sitting down and mapping what’s driving this rather than just aiming at the symptom. Book a session and we’ll work out what’s underneath it.

Hi, thank you for sharing your concern. It sounds like you have been carrying these feelings for quite some time, and it must be emotionally exhausting to feel restless, anxious, and trapped. From what you have shared, it seems that watching porn, masturbating, and continuously scrolling through social media may have become ways of coping or escaping from the difficult thoughts and emotions you are experiencing, rather than the actual problem itself. I would encourage you not to handle this alone. Meeting with a counselling psychologist can help you understand what is contributing to these feelings, work on your anxiety, improve your confidence, and develop healthier ways of coping. With the right support, these patterns can improve. Please don’t hesitate to seek help—you have already taken the first step by sharing your concern. Take care. It sounds like you’re trying to escape uncomfortable thoughts and feelings but the temporary relief is leaving you feeling more anxious, confused and trapped. The focus should be on understanding what’s beneath these behaviours rather than just stopping them
Next Steps
Work with a psychologist to understand your triggers, gradually reduce screen time and build alternative ways to manage stress
