I have anterior talofibular ligament tear on my right ankle. One of the doctor says it's life long can't be treated. I had injury 3 months ago.. I have gained weight too much. Need to start running asap

In most of the cases ATFL heals well if managed properly, even if it’s neglected it will heal. Get an x ray ankle (side) done. Any signs of infection should be ruled out. Any other symptoms like stiffness of fingers. RA Factor, Anti CCP. CRP

Need to examine your ankle and specific xrays , if needed then MRI to confirm ligament tear as injury is now 3 months old .

ATFL injury should be treated with utmost care at the earliest. Delay in treatment would lead to improper healing of ligament and instability later on with activities involving stress on ankle.. This can be resolved with a repair or reconstruction.
