Similarly PFM is a porcelain fused METAL crown.       The idea of removing any metalic objects during scans is to nullify any magnetic interferences.       Therefore it depends on the type of machinery. If it is the latest CT or MRI scan machine it might not interfere. (Observe if the person taking the scan is asking you to remove any jewellery, ask them if your PFM crown can interfere). Chances are the new generation tech of CT and MRI need not require. But the old ones might.

However, if the focus is on the head or oral structures, the metal substructure of the PFM crown may cause distortions.In MRI Scan PFM crowns can significantly interfere with MRI imaging, leading to substantial artifacts that may compromise the quality of the scan. For optimal imaging results, I recommend visiting a nearby dentist to have the crown temporarily removed before the scan. It can be replaced afterward to ensure both diagnostic accuracy and dental integrity.
