Dear human, thank you for sharing and reaching out. It sounds like you want to live peacefully without any thoughts and you want to stop it by doing any kind of meditation. An effective kind of meditation is mindfulness and it comes only through consistent practice. Mindfulness is completely being present at the moment and being aware of the moment by allowing any thoughts to flow through and learning to accept it in a very non-judgemental way. It takes effort and patience to be mindful and it can start by doing very small techniques for 10-15 minutes daily and gradually implementing it in daily life like mindful bathing, mindful eating, mindful walking, mindful working, etc. Always remember that it’s impossible to stop one’s thoughts because it is automatic and all our behaviors are directed only by our cognition (thoughts) but it’s possible to modify it. In simpler terms, we cannot stop our thinking but we can change the way we think, which can be done through therapy. Consider taking up therapy if you’re dealing with negative thoughts which is mitigating your daily functioning while simultaneously practising mindfulness.
Hope this helps :)
