Pain in upper left molar multiple re rct

2026-05-01 14:25:29
Hi, I have undergone root canal retreatment on the same upper left molar multiple times 3 re rct ( last happened on april 13th), but I continue to experience pain. The X-rays and CBCT scans appear normal, with no visible fracture or infection. Could someone please suggest what might be causing the persistent pain and what further treatment options or evaluations I should consider? Attaching xray including before and after image from the last re rct done

Hey hi,There is slight infection also persistent pain after multiple Re-RCTs, despite normal X-rays and CBCT, can be quite complex. It could be due to a micro-fracture , or even non-dental causes like referred nerve pain (neuralgia) or sinus issues
Next Steps
Please consult an Endodontist (Root Canal Specialist) for a microscopic evaluation. If the tooth structure is compromised after 3 retreatments, you may need to consider an Apicoectomy or, in the worst case, extraction followed by an implant to finally end the pain.

Hello There seems to be infection present in the tooth. there is no point of filling the tooth until the infection subsides.
Next Steps
your CBCT written report might indicate infection in the root of that particular teeth or missed canal. Consult an endodontist let them proceed with the procedure
Health Tips
Re-RCTs are not that easy to do, don't be misguided.

I can see some infection in one of the root of the tooth which is root canal treated. If you can attach other sections of cbct,it will be easier to diagnose.
