Pain after root canal
I just had my crown fitted after root canal yesterday. I still have pain on chewing. I m taking antiinflammatory medicine for 3 days as recommended by my dentist. I wanted to know for how much long such pain usually last or if it is any cause for concern

Did you have the same pain after root canal or the pain started after placing the crown. If you had pain after root canal but before crown placement, then it might be indication that infection has not completely healed. In some cases with infected tooth, after root canal it is left to heal for 4-5 days and then crown procedure is followed (especially when the underlying tooth has infection in and around the tooth and gums)
But as you mentioned, after crown placement you are unable to chew which does indicate that you might have high point or after the crown are placed your all teeth are not touching but the crowned tooth is touching first when you bite from both side back tooth.

If you've had a root canal and crown, and you still have pain while chewing, I think you need to bring it to the notice of your dentist. The pain might indicate that the crown needs some adjustment. It is also possible that there is a relapse of the infection needing attention. However, it might also be just the initial adjustment of the crown, in which case it should settle down in another day or 2.
