Yes yoga can help to deal your problems, but I am not sure how far you have the knowledge in asanas like adhomuka swanasana, bujangasana, obviously Surya namaskara and there are different breathing exercises, I can suggest you Chandra breathing, along with normal anuloma /viloma exercise, Bhastrika and others. But PLEASE UNDERSTAND if you are not sure of this don't do seeing Google or video, it is done under the experts.
With related to meditation I won't suggest now because certain times, thoughts process could increase, more over you won't be able to focus, as you have mentioned about over thinking.
Therefore you work on triggerance of thought process, reason for over thinking (what & why is making ), yes it could have been habituated after a while / certain situation.
Work on yourself in different areas (explore) on expectations, career, focus and others. Take care, you can cope with counselling and therapy..
