Overthinking= thinking excessively about something that worries/triggers you. Overthinking is not a problem in itself, but it may indicate the underlying issues that cause you to experience stress and thus spend lot of time analysing possible threats/ worst case scenarios (to ultimately stay ready and prepared).
Next Steps
Consult a counselling psychologist/ therapist to explore the issue & help you overcome/overpower it yourself :)

Hi. It's most common problem.  Set criteria by yourself.  Limit the time for thinking a particular thought. Gradually decrease the time with self rewarding method. Do some engaging work like cutting vegetables or repairing bicycle during the time you used to spend in overthinking . See for pros cons or realistic consequences of thinking the thought . Have a circle of friends and enjoy chatting around new thoughts of healthy nature. Shift your focus

Overthinking is a normal response when the body is feeling overwhelmed. You might either be thinking about the past or worrying about the future. There may also be issues repressed in your unconscious that may be coming out. I would recommend you book a session with a psychologist.

This is your observation or problem? Do not make self diagnosis. Consult a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist.
