Each individual has his/her own style of thought process depending on their genes, upbringing and life experiences. Nonetheless if particular thought process is affecting your day to day functioning, it appears to be in your case, you would benefit from engaging in activities which distract you alongwith sparing some time for self reflection through meditation, etc.
