Dear Patient,
Your reports are reassuring. Normal fecal calprotectin (<5) and
CRP indicate no active intestinal inflammation, so serious diseases like IBD are unlikely. After hemorrhoid surgery, bowel habit change, abdominal discomfort, and weight fluctuation can occur due to stress, altered diet, gut sensitivity, and IBS-D. Rapid weight loss over 2 weeks is often due to reduced intake, anxiety, and fluid loss rather than true tissue loss.
What you should do to gain weight and improve IBS:
• Eat small frequent meals (5–6 times/day) instead of large meals
• Add calorie-dense but gut-friendly foods: banana, rice, curd, oats, boiled potatoes, peanut butter, ghee in small quantity
• Include protein: eggs, paneer, dal, chicken, whey isolate (if tolerated)
• Avoid triggers: very spicy food, excess tea/coffee, fried food, artificial sweeteners
• Continue Normaxin as prescribed (helps gut motility and pain)
• Probiotic daily for 3–4 weeks (like VSL#3 / Darolac)
• Manage stress — IBS strongly links with anxiety (yoga, breathing, walking)
• Light exercise improves appetite and bowel rhythm
Weight usually improves once gut symptoms settle. Monitor weight weekly, not daily.
Consult me if persistent severe pain, blood in stool, fever, or continued weight loss occurs.
