Nausea and indigestion

2026-08-28 09:04:22
I was diagnosed with acute entrititis on second week of  August. How i recovered and had constipation after that. Now from past 10 days, I again feels like nausea and vomiting after eating more than what I usually eat and specially if i take green tea. I manage the same with saunf and ajwain water or any acidity medicine. Please advise.

Aapko pehle acute enteritis hua tha, lekin ab 10 din se nausea/vomiting ka recurrent pattern hai, especially overeating ya green tea ke baad. Ye acidity/indigestion ki wajah se ho sakta hai, but exact cause history ke bina confirm nahi kiya ja sakta.

What you are describing after an episode of acute enteritis is quite common — the gut lining and its motility take a few weeks to recover, so nausea and vomiting appear when the stomach is loaded or irritated. Green tea on a relatively empty stomach is a frequent trigger and is best avoided for now. Keep meals small and frequent, eat slowly, avoid spicy, oily and fermented food, tea/coffee on an empty stomach, and do not lie down for two hours after eating. Saunf and ajwain water are safe to continue. If symptoms persist beyond 2-3 weeks, or if there is weight loss, blood in vomit, black stools or difficulty swallowing, it needs proper evaluation.
Next Steps
Start with small frequent bland meals and stop green tea for two weeks. If it does not settle, a physician review with basic tests (CBC, thyroid, H. pylori test, and an ultrasound abdomen) will help decide whether an endoscopy is needed. You can book a teleconsult with me on Practo to plan this, or visit me at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj (consultation fee Rs 100).

Gastritis or Enteritis are slow and lingering problems. The main treatment is lifestyle modifications and not Medical treatment. You should observe due precautions like a soft diet with minimum spices, and not going to bed immediately after a meal, having water in the morning on an empty stomach, walking for about half an hour, and avoiding excess tea or coffee, no liquor. Please observe these precautions for about 2 months. After that you can start "normal" meals.

acute enteritis in the second week of August, subsequently developed constipation, and are now having 10 days of nausea/vomiting predominantly after larger meals and particularly after green tea, this sounds more like an upper-GI dyspeptic/reflux-type problem or transient post-infectious gastric dysmotility than a recurrence of enteritis. The pattern of feeling nauseated/full after eating more than usual is compatible with dyspepsia; nausea, early satiety and post-meal fullness are typical symptoms. What I would suggest For the next 1–2 weeks: Stop green tea completely for now. Caffeine-containing drinks can aggravate dyspeptic symptoms in some people. Eat smaller meals, 4–5 times/day rather than large meals. Eat slowly and avoid overeating. Avoid very spicy, oily/fatty foods. Avoid lying down for 2–3 hours after meals. Continue adequate hydration. Saunf/ajwain water is reasonable if it makes you feel better, but don't rely on it if symptoms persist.
