Hi In general our Indian population have low to moderate levels of vitamin D in the body. Add in calcium rich foods like milk, cheese, curd, yoghurt as sufficient calcium and magnesium is required for better absorption of vitamin D in the body A small suggestion to naturally improve the vitamin D absorption in the body is to smear a thin layer of coconut on the exposed portions of the body and sit outside where sun rays falls on your body for 10 mins a day ( 6 to 9 am) not after 10 am ( uv rays would be very sharp at that time of the day. Bird supplementation is also required

Vitamin D: 8.4 ng/mL – Severe deficiency Vitamin B12: 128 pg/mL – Deficiency These levels usually require medical treatment/supplements along with dietary changes. Diet alone is often not enough to correct such low values. Dietary Guidelines: For Vitamin D: Get 15–30 minutes of sunlight (arms and legs exposed) between 10 AM and 2 PM, 4–5 days/week, depending on skin type and weather. Include: Egg yolk (if non-vegetarian) Fatty fish such as salmon, sardines, or mackerel (2–3 times/week) Fortified milk or fortified curd Fortified breakfast cereals UV-exposed mushrooms (for vegetarians) Consume healthy fats (nuts, seeds, or a little oil) with meals to help vitamin D absorption. For Vitamin B12: Include: Milk, curd, paneer Eggs Fish and chicken Lean meat (if consumed) Fortified cereals or fortified nutritional yeast (especially for vegetarians) If vegetarian, regular B12 supplementation is usually necessary because plant foods do not naturally provide adequate vitamin B12.

Health Tips
Eat a balanced diet with adequate protein (dal, pulses, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, tofu). Include plenty of fruits and vegetables for overall nutrition. Stay well hydrated. Avoid excessive alcohol and smoking, as they can worsen nutrient deficiencies

Your blood test shows that both your Vitamin D (8.4 ng/mL) and Vitamin B12 (128 pg/mL) levels are significantly low and require prompt attention. These deficiencies can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, muscle weakness, body aches, numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, poor concentration, and low energy. ☆ I would recommend the following :- ● Vitamin D: Please consult your physician for a prescription of high-dose Vitamin D3 (commonly 60,000 IU once weekly for 8–12 weeks, followed by a maintenance dose). Avoid self-medicating, as the dosage should be individualized. ● Vitamin B12: Since your B12 level is quite low, you would require Vitamin B12 injections or high-dose oral supplements. ● Include foods rich in Vitamin B12, such as eggs, dairy products, fish, chicken, and meat. If you follow a vegetarian diet, fortified cereals, fortified milk, and nutritional yeast can help, though supplementation is usually necessary at your current level. ● For Vitamin D, consume fortified dairy products, egg yolks, and fatty fish, and aim for 15–30 minutes of sunlight exposure (arms and legs exposed) on most days, if feasible. ● Ensure adequate intake of protein, calcium, and magnesium, as they support bone and muscle health. It is advisable to repeat your Vitamin D and B12 tests after 8–12 weeks to monitor your response to treatment.
