Its most likely that you have injured a ligament around the knee. Follow the RICE Protocol: R -  rest the ankle,  I - ice the ankle region, C -  apply compression to the region with a crepe bandage and E - elevate the for over a pillow. If pain is unbearable visit the nearest ortho surgeon who can examine the ankle and order xrays if necessary. He can prescribe meds for you as well.

Pls don't apply heat on an acutely painful foot. Apply ice pack. Pls consult an Orthopedic Surgeon -it may be an ankle sprain or can be an inflammation.
