An aphthous ulcer is a painful open sore caused by inflammation, while a mucocele (mucous cyst) is a fluid-filled, usually painless swelling resulting from a blocked or ruptured salivary gland.

There are no tablets or ointments that can resolve a mucocele â it needs a small surgical procedure (excision or marsupialization) done by a dentist or oral surgeon, which is a quick and simple outpatient procedure. Without treatment, mucoceles tend to recur even if they temporarily reduce in size.

There will be no pain or bleeding because it's just saliva accumulation
No ointments and Tablets for it because it's a surgical condition
