Mouth Ulcers post RCT

2016-11-30 18:02:06
My wife has developed ulcers on her right cheek and entire tongue post RCT couple of days ago on her left molar tooth. The ulcers are so severe that she is unable to eat, chew, drink or swallow food. The dentist has given dologel to apply and suggested to take pain killer and gargle with salt water. None are effective. She couldn't gargle due to severe burning sensation. Please suggest appropriate medication.

Well they are traumatic ulcers which might have developed when patient was under influence of local anaesthesia..she has bit on cheek and tongue... Ideally takes a couple of weeks to get resolved ... There are some anaesthetic (pain releiving)mouthrinses which give temporary relief during eating food... But i need to see patient the cause and advise accordingly

hello, you can do baking soda in water rinses. this will help to heal the ulcers. you need to consult a physician and get your Vitamin B levels checked. if needed, you need to take supplements for it.

The development of ulcers can be due to different reasons One of the main reason is multivitamin deficiency where the healing process would take more time and slightest injury also would habe lead to the ulcers They woukd subside in couple of weeks And also ask your dentist or you check if any sort of sharp tips of tooth is injuring your sude of the tongue or cheek And with above medicationed mentioned ny your dentist you pls start a course of becosules z capsules each one at night for 15 days The problem will be solved

Severe ulcer on the cheek post RCT can be because of 2 reasons, one it can be at the site of injection or it can be because of biting the cheek unknowingly since it is anaesthetised... What ever the reason, it better you apply dologel as suggested by the dentist and keep the area clean. Ulcers will take some time to heal. You can have some Mon spicy food till then.
