, focus on listing the positive things you are grateful for. Managing negative emotions involves a lot of discipline, and learning to cut off negative thoughts before they begin to run wild. Of course, part of being human is having negative thoughts, but that does not mean we should let them control our lives.
Replacing our negative thoughts with positive ones is the first step to recovery of chronic negative thinking. Much like a recovering addict, the transformation from negative emotions to positive ones will most likely take time and effort. But if everyday we meditate on the good, and purposely put positive thoughts into our minds, and reject the negative ones, we can transform our thinking from bad to good.
