Medication after discharge

Hello sir/mam Is it normal to use anxiety medication after prolonged illness. I don't have any history of mental illness but after prolonged health issues since one year I was adviced to use fluvoxamine 50. I would like to know why this happened all of a sudden.

It is certainly not "normal" to use Antidepressants/ Anxiolytics regularly after any prolonged illness. And Fluvoxamine is a medicine prescribed for a specific condition. Anxiolytics can be given for a certain period only if you are having debilitating anxiety.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychiatrist and consider tapering off the medicine.

You may be having a depressive or adjustment episode. However this needs detailed evaluation for any final conclusion.
