Master health check up

2026-09-25 15:27:43
Doctor, I recently completed a comprehensive master health check-up. Most parameters in my CBC, LFT, RFT, lipid profile, blood sugar and thyroid profile are normal. However, I noticed a few values outside the reference range and would like to know if they are clinically significant or require any follow-up. My main concern is Vitamin D, which is 18.1 ng/mL. Please advise whether I need Vitamin D supplementation, the appropriate dose and duration, and when it should be rechecked. Other abnormal/slightly abnormal values: CBC – Lymphocytes 44.8%, absolute lymphocytes 3.46, monocytes 1.2%, absolute monocytes 0.09, PDW 16.7, RBC 5.53. Lipid – LDL 100, TC/HDL ratio 2.8. Liver – Albumin 4.99, indirect bilirubin 1.09, total bilirubin 1.34, direct bilirubin 0.25. Renal – BUN 7.5, creatinine 0.6, calculated urea 16.05. Do I need  to worry about other parameters ? No symptoms at present

Vitamin D is low at 18.1 ng/mL. The other reported values appear largely reassuring, with mild variations in CBC/lipid and bilirubin parameters that should be interpreted alongside the complete report and clinical context. For a detailed review of the complete health-check report and personalized advice, you may consult me through Practo.

Vitamin D 18.1 is insufficient, so yes, you need supplementation. What I usually advise is cholecalciferol 60,000 IU once a week for 8 weeks, then once a month for maintenance, and a recheck after about 3 months. The rest are minor: slightly high indirect bilirubin with normal liver enzymes is often a harmless Gilbert pattern, and the small CBC shifts and low-normal creatinine mean nothing without symptoms. LDL 100 is fine for now, just keep diet and exercise in check.
Next Steps
Start the vitamin D course and repeat the level in 3 months. If you want me to go through the full report once properly, book a consult with me here on Practo.

A vitamin D level of 18.1 falls below what's considered sufficient, and correcting it usually needs supplementation. The right dose and how long you need it depends on your history, so that call is best made by your doctor.
Next Steps
The rest of your values look close to standard reference ranges for someone with no symptoms, but go through the full report with your doctor rather than reading each number alone.
Health Tips
Don't start a vitamin D dose on your own based on what worked for someone else. Get it rechecked after the course your doctor sets.
