Mandible fracture

I have screw and plates in my jaw.i want to remove that plate . It is 7 month over after surgery. I feel cut mark and stitches mark. Removing plate will increase the cut mark or stitches mark??

Helo can u post post op opg or any xray,, Is plates nd screws are titanium and is placed properly and ur not having any pain or psresthesia or discomfort, kindly don't get it removed cz u shld always avoid surgical procedures and moreover its nly 6months old ,for a fracture to heal radiographically also sometimes it takes 6-12months hence if not causing any trouble let it be,, coming on to ur concern for scars,,it is advisable to go for scar revision surgeries aftr 3 months of procedures,,wch vl help y minimise ur scar also,and if at all u want to get ur plate Removed at any cost ,it cb b managed intraorally also..

No it won’t increase as the plate removal will be done intra orally (from inside the mouth ) U can consult a skin specialist for ur mark issue (medicines can reduce severity of marks)

The stitches mark will not increase as the plate removal done intraorally(inside the mouth). You should consult with a oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
