70000 is not that low for a platelet count. A long standing or latent infection can cause lower platelet count in individuals. If you don't have fever or bleeding tendencies you don't have to worry about that. Also, medications for cardiovascular episodes can also decrease the platelet count.

Your platelet is low,you need to get it investigated.Also moniter it daily for few days,if it is on reducing trend then it is cause of concern.
