Can I use ice pack application for mild knee effusion.....? Is there any side effect if I apply ice ?

Knee effusion occurs when synovial fluid accumulates around the jnee.could be because of injury to meniscus,ligaments and arthritis.in case of acute knee effusion you can use ice pack 2 times in a day.do not aplly ice directly over the affected joint.kindly use compression bandage .

Ice packs are only treating the symptoms. It doesn't have a side effects but effective only for first 72 hours of effusion.
