Mrs. Aktar Begum surely has osteoarthritis (OA) in both of her knees. it is common during the age group because of wear and tear. things to notice is .
1) change in footwear is recommended as it helps to reduce the pressure on knee (advisable is skechers - has a soft and cushiony sole which also pushes back).
2) avoid sitting Cross legged or even squatting and Over-bending knees (namaz position) . as over bending knees causes more compression on the meniscus (which are degraded in OA) and passess on to the bones causing Pain.
3) do daily exercises for strengthening quadriceps and hamstrings.
4) Do not use indian toilet or use a low stool for bathing.
