Jaggery is slightly better than refined white sugar as it retains small amounts of minerals like iron and potassium, but from a blood sugar standpoint both raise glucose similarly. For a healthy person without diabetes, moderate jaggery consumption is fine and is a reasonable substitute for sugar.
Next Steps
Keep portions moderate and if you have diabetes or are at risk, discuss sweetener choices with your doctor. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.

Both cause a rapid rise in blood glucose because they are primarily composed of sucrose, glucose, and fructose Jaggery has small amout of iron, potassium and magnesium where these minerals are negligible in table sugar
Health Tips
For overall nutrition jaggery is slightly better and in terms of blood sugar control both are equivalent in raising blood glucose

Its a myth that jaggery is a better substitute for sugar as these days jaggery is also adulterated with sugar. It does no good as one expects. Yes occasionally you can definitely go for it.

It is better to use jaggery but if possible consume less sugar. Try to switch to sugar free or less sugar in tea.
