Insomnia,not getting sleep till late nig

I am retd person in well to do position without any problems or tension.worked in service industry for 36 yrs in shifts. In night shifts I never slept and same thing continues till date.Taken lot of prescription medicines intermittently and not on regular basis.Can you please suggest non prescription tabs or safe OTC medicine? Thanks in advance
