2025-01-25 22:44:13
I have a wound on the inside of my cheek, which I suspect might be from accidentally biting it. The wound is painful, especially when it touches my teeth sometimes. The pain then radiates to my cheek, the side of my head and even to some of my teeth. I would like to know how to treat it and if it requires medical attention, Thank you.

Hi.. if the wound is on cheek and if it was caused by accidental cheek bite then usually it will heal but in your case it is paining and that too you are experiencing radiating pain which indicates infection. So try not to chew from that side, apply topical antibiotic gel on the wound area, check for any sharp tooth adjacent to the wound area.
Next Steps
Maintain oral hygiene, rinse after every meal, use mouthwash for 1 week atleast.
Health Tips
If the pain is not getting reduced then best to visit a dentist. If there is any sharp tooth associated with the wound area the dentist will smoothen it off

It might be cheek bite or pericoronitis please share the photograph of the concerned region, so we can diagnose it better.
