Usually the number of sittings for canal is based of the infection present. Couple of factors influencing completion of the root canal is the presence of an actively draining Abcess which leads to multiple sittings. Once the root’s canals are effectively cleaned and dry for restoration posts can be placed along with the root canal permanent filling. After which crown reduction can be done, some cases have a time limit and if everything plays out well the crown can be given in a week. Factors that delay the crown preparation is the remaining crown height-which may indicate the need for a crown lengthening procedure, structural stability of the remaining tooth structure and the presence /absence of an active infection

It depends upon the technique with which rct is done . The dentist who has done the treatment is the best person to guide..
