I don't want teeth extracted in braces

I had crooked teeth which resulted in getting them braced. Now, it has been 40 days since I put on braces. I consulted my orthodontist this week and he says for teeth extraction for I have crowded teeth. But I don't want extraction done on my teeth. Can you please suggest if I could go without extracting any tooth.
