How much time in the Sun for Vitamin D?

2021-05-12 08:33:58
Hi, I am 32 years old female. I have medium fair skin. I have a general question about daily exposure to Sunlight. Since the pandemic is keeping us indoors, so my skin/body doesn't get direct Sunrays. I wanted to know that if I plan to go for a walk/stroll in the Sun, which time of the day should be targetted and which time should be avoided? Also how much time (in a week or in a day) in the Sun (with regular clothes on) should be enough for the required amount of Vitamin D? Appreciate your response. Thank you.

Early morning walks around 7-8 am during summers are very useful for vit D. No specific clothing is required. Jst regular clothes are good. Avoid taking walks late mornings or afternoon as there is risk of uv exposure and sun stroke. About 30 min walk everyday is sufficient for u.
