In short, i have suffered from anxiety since 15 yrs. I have tried several SSRI, it helps, but every time i sleep , i wake up with heart racing , benzodiazepines do not help. Is it possible to take Inderal 40mg at night?

Inderal is best taken in the morning, as it has tendency to cause sleep disturbance when taken at night. The best way is to optimise the dose of propranolol in the morning itself so that it's effect stays up to next morning. If SSRIs didn't work you should discuss with your clinician to try SNRIs
Next Steps
Discuss further course with a Psychiatrist in person

Do take in that dose on your own. Consult a psychiatrist and then take. Good luck

You need to undergo a sleep evaluation. Is there any delayed onset of sleep? , what is total sleep time? Are there nightmares and night terrors? What is total REM sleep and NREM sleep time? After you wake up with palpitations, how long it takes for you to fall back asleep? How is sleep quality? Do you have sleep apnoea? Are there are any sleep defeating behaviours before bed time? Are you following sleep hygiene? Since you have been using different medications for past 15 years, Before starting any new medication for sleep its best to thoroughly evaluate the exact nature of the problem so an appropriate medication or solution can be prescribed. Please discuss with your psychiatrist or visit a sleep specialist. Inderal 40mg is high dose and shouldnt be started without advice of your treating psychiatrist. Also you should try CBT- Cognitive behavioural therapy for anxiety.
