Please get pure tone audiometry done. In case you have any ear discharge or trauma get the ears checked and rule out perforated drum... If the tests are normal then maybe it is just due to lack of attention to the sound.. You maybe too involved in doing what you are doing and not able to appreciate the sound from outside.

There are many causes of hearing loss from impacted wax to nerve damage or lesion inside the brain.so detailed history and evaluation is needed to start treatment. Special mention to sudden hearing loss in which case earlier the treatment , better the chance of recovery.
