Your symptoms are indicated of gum inflammation which is caused by deposits of Calculus on the teeth. Brushing alone cannot remove these deposits and changing the toothpaste will also not help, because a toothpaste is merely a medium to provide a detergent like action and a polishing action. You need to visit a dentist so that those deposits can be cleaned by a process called as scaling. Post operative maintenance by proper brushing technique (as advised by the dentist) will help you to maintain the results in the long run.
Maintain adequate level of hydration and at the same time make sure that you clean your tongue after every time you brush your teeth, using your toothbrush only. Avoid the use of tongue cleaners whether they are of plastic or metallic or wooden.
Regards.
