Hard lump in thigh after vaccination

Hello Doc, After one and half month vaccination to my baby, a hard lump in the thigh at the injection site not going from last 2 weeks . Will that lump go away of it own? Please advise . I am applying both hot and ice massage to the thigh.

It is common after the vaccine. It can last for 1 or 2 months also. No need to worry unless there is fever or baby cries on touching it. Please visit a pediatrician for regular check up

There might be chance to get cellulitis secondary to DPT vaccination,  If your child has fever please consult a nearby pediatrician asap.

Just apply cold ice, and if the area is not warm, and there is no redness around it then there is nothing to worry, but if you find it to be red or extremely painful, kindly get it physical examineD

This is usually seen after DPT or Pentavaccine(vaccines given at 1.5months,2.5 months and 3.5months.Usually it disappears in 2-3 weeks time.U can apply cotton cloth soaked in lukewarm saline solution as home remedy However if u see redness,increase in size of lump or fever associated with it it is better to show ur doctor.
