Halitosis despite good oral hygiene

2025-09-23 01:53:00
I regularly brush twice with tongue scrapping and flossing. I have even shared this issue with my dentists, where they see no issue with my oral health as such. Then I went for ENT as I do have sore throat all the time, but they prescribed few ant acids, allergens, and a nasal spray, which never worked in my case. Still, despite trying everything, the halitosis just never goes even for a second. I'm very disturbed by this issue. Though I'm sure that the odor is coming from the end of the tongue or the below region where I can't reach to clean. Medications don't work nor any mouthwash. What to do? Help me.

As there are no ENT, dental issues, likely reason for the halitosis could be due to gastrointestinal tract issues.Consult a gastroenterologist in your area. However you can try tab ganaton 50 mg three times daily before the food, and tablet flagyl 400 mg three times daily for a week,it may help

It’s understandable to feel frustrated, but persistent halitosis is often related to issues beyond oral hygiene, and GERD (acid reflux) is a common cause. Since your dentist has ruled out dental problems and your ENT has prescribed treatment, it can take time , sometimes several weeks , to notice improvement. Continue following your ENT’s plan, including the antacids, nasal spray, or allergy treatment as advised. If symptoms persist after a reasonable period, follow up with your ENT or consider a gastroenterology review. Disclaimer: This is general information and not a substitute for personalized medical advice. Please continue to follow your ENT’s recommendations and seek further evaluation if symptoms don’t improve.
