Genital warts can recur because HPV may remain in the skin, so there is no instant permanent cure, but they are treatable. Do not apply imiquimod inside the vagina unless a gynaecologist has specifically prescribed it; internal lesions need examination and appropriate treatment such as cryotherapy or cautery. The vaccine prevents new HPV infections but does not remove existing warts, and at 22 you may need the complete recommended schedule. Please see a gynaecologist/dermatologist; you may book a Practo consult or meet me at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj.
Next Steps
Arrange a gynaecology examination to confirm the internal lesions and complete the HPV vaccination schedule as advised; avoid self-applying medicines inside the vagina.
