Gap between front teeth

I have mixed opinions from Dentist regarding the closure of gap between my front teeth. Should I remove the frenum which is causing the gap first and then go for bracing or is it the other way round? Your comment would be of much help. Thank you in advance

According to me you should first remove the frenum and then go for braces.
