Fractured molar

2021-07-13 06:32:16
My upper right side wisdom tooth had been removed 4 years ago. The next tooth, molar, was found to have been fractured last month. My dentist has removed the loose fractured tooth (30% in size). The remaining broken molar tooth (70%) is still there, it's firm and not moving. But I understand I can't leave this Tooth as it is. My dentist says that I will have to remove this partial tooth and get an implant. I want a second opinion.

Hello. You are required to take an x-ray of the particular tooth. Depending on the structure, vitality and extent of fracture of the tooth, you can undergo a root canal treatment followed by post&core or crown. Or extraction of the tooth, followed by implant or bridge. Please Visit a dentist for definite diagnosis and treatment.

Sometimes if the structure of fractured segment is weak it’s better to go for extraction .

Hi,     Before I explain further first a xray of the tooth will be required. Once it is established that the fracture has not gone much beyond the CEJ then we can plan a RCT and Post and Core build up. These are the options but to know if it is possible I will need xray of the tooth.
Next Steps
consult online with xray

Firstly x ray of that tooth is required. Then only it's possible to advise treatment options. See, if remaining tooth structure is firm enough then you can go for Root canal treatment for that tooth, followed by post and core. But if tooth is not strong enough to bear this then you can go for implant. Consult doctor online or offline for further information.
