My child has been getting a fever continuously for the last 4 days .. blood reports are malaria -ve, dengue -ve , crp-42mg/L. Today, we started antibiotics Augmentin DDS (4.5ml twise a day) but not seeing much improvement and fever is coming again(103+).. how much time Antibiotics take to work? Or should we monitor 48hrs of Antibiotics..

Consult to Pediatrician physically for further evaluation and treatment

Wait for 48 hrs ..if not improving visit physically to nearby pediatrician.

Antibiotic will take time to work atleast 48 hours, but after 48 hours, if fever doesnot decrease than admit the child for iv antibiotics

Maintain hydration give water in between . Continue same treatment . Repeat crp after 5 days of antibiotics course . Atleast 2 days shld complete for course of antibiotic .

Atleast 48 hours of antibiotic course have to be taken
Next Steps
CRP is too high. If it doesn’t decrease even after 48hrs, better go for IV antibiotics
