Fever and convulsion
My baby is 7 months old..She has laryngomalacia.
From yesterday after she was having 100 degree fever.we gave her paracetamol 1 ml..after few hours she got 102.5 degree fever ..and all of a sudden her face ,legs body gets bend,stiff..I gave her bath and I noticed that she got a bit better after that....We got her admitted and doc told us she was having convulsion..
What is it? I come to know that it can be happen in future...how can I take care her at home ..It is not possible for us to get her admitted every time .
I don't know what to do .i am a working mother..

It seems to be febrile seizures.
Laryngomalacia, if not causing any problem heals by itselt. Try to not get high grade fever and if it occurs, early intervention is required for relieving it. Tab clobazam can be used as a prophylaxis for febrile seizures .
Do not bathe the child in case of convulsions. It can make the situation worse. Mostly risk of these types of convulsions reduces after the age of 5 years.
It’s important to know the duration of seizures, family history, level of consciousness after the episode, etc

In case of a repeat episode, there may be a need for anti epileptic and neuroimaging; which depends on many factors.
