I do not know is it your habbit of imagining things as many people do have or you are under stress. Reasons might be anything until your brain starts taking toll of it. It means it starts facing trouble in doing it's normal actions such as focussing.
So probably you are having trouble in paying attention.
For the time being just stimulate yourself physically or saying stop in your mind when it starts to think anything else.
