I am 22 years and planning to get braces . I don't have gaps in my teeth but I have front two protuding teeth , overcrowding and uneven smile . I have been recommended to go for tooth extraction and then braces . I have read that teeth extraction changes the face structure and makes it worse . I am skeptical because of this . Pls recomend what to do

Hello, At 22, considering braces for protruding front teeth and overcrowding is wise. Tooth extraction can address this, but concerns about facial changes are valid. Consult multiple orthodontists for second opinions, discuss alternatives, and ensure the chosen treatment aligns with your aesthetic goals and overall oral health.

Hi..Orthodontic extraction of premolars is a very common procedure done to achieve space for movement of proclined teeth ..You dont have gaps in your teeth which is more the reason to extract to create space..extraction of canines might change the profile a bit as they are the cornerstones of mouth  ..but premolars are no concern..
Next Steps
go for orthodontic treatment..

Hello As you’re afraid of teeth extraction but, don’t be. At times it is need of the treatment plan because to make front teeth to align normally, doctor will have to make some space by extraction For normal braces to align and gain space we will have to extract the teeth Orthodontic extraction will not make the facial appearance worse, it will make it better if the treatment has been done properly
Next Steps
Consult an orthodontist

Hello, As there is no space extraction may be indicated for that. Orthodontic treatments give a better result to your smile. You will need a retainer after the treatment to maintain the position of the teeth. Sometimes relapse can occur if retainer is not worn properly. There are fixed retainers also which won’t cause you any problem.
