Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me.
I understand your concern. After a few days of diarrhea, it is common for an external hemorrhoid to swell and then rupture, causing mild bleeding and discomfort. The good news is that such ruptured piles usually heal on their own with proper local care and diet control.
1. Advices
Keep the anal area clean and dry. Wash gently with lukewarm water after passing stool, then pat dry.
Avoid straining, sitting for long on the toilet, and spicy or oily food.
Increase fibre and fluid intakeâdrink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily, and add papaya, banana, oats, and vegetables to meals.
2. What to Monitor
Amount and frequency of bleeding.
Any increase in swelling, severe pain, or fever.
Regularity of bowel movements.
3. Management
Apply PiloGo or Anovate cream twice daily over the external pile for 5 to 7 days.
Take Sitz bath â sit in a tub of comfortably warm water for 10â15 minutes twice daily to reduce pain and swelling.
You may take Daflon 500 mg tablet twice daily after meals for 5 days to improve venous tone and reduce bleeding.
If pain is more, take Chymoral Forte twice daily after food for 3 to 5 days.
Avoid constipation at all costs. If stool is hard, take Cremaffin syrup 15 ml at night for a few days.
Usually, mild ruptured external hemorrhoids heal within 7â10 days with this care.
4. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately
If bleeding becomes continuous or bright red with every stool.
If pain or swelling increases instead of reducing.
If you develop dizziness or black stool.
Every patientâs situation is unique. For accurate confirmation and faster healing, it is advisable to discuss your symptoms in detail and share a clear photo of the area privately if possible for medical review.
