Olecranon bursitis is basically inflammation of the sac of fluid at the back of elbow. Usually such swellings develop at pressure points and bony prominences. It is benign and can be left alone if no symptoms. However if pain continues or it becomes too large, it can be removed by a surgeon. Other indication for removal would be  purely for cosmetic reasons
Next Steps
Take Painkillers, Anti inflammatory drugs and apply compression
Health Tips
Avoid resting your elbows on hard surfaces while working
