I have done a 4th generation CMIA antigen and antibody Hiv combo test recently. My last possible exposure was 6years back. It is non reactive. But while I did the test I was using corticosteroid nasal spray to treat allergic rhinitis. Doctpr adviced me to use duonase nasal spray for treating allergic rhintis. The dose was 2 sprays per nostril twice daily. I used the spray as prescribed for a continuous period of 5months. Now my question is can the use of this corticosteroid nasal spray i.e duonase nasal spray used for a continuous period of 5months cause immunosuppression and reduce the HIV antibodies so that it cannot be detected by HIV antibody test and cause a false negative when the 4th Generation CMIA antigen and antibody test which is non reactive was done after 6years of exposure that well outside the window period?
