If possible don't give meftal-p. Do following for high grade fever 1. Paracetamol (wait for 30) minutes') 6hourly 2. Do tepid sponging( whole body) 3. Ibugesic
Next Steps
whole body tepid sponging is very effective

I generally prefer a gap of  3 hr between  the two of them . I feel minimum possible medicines should  be give. Peak  effect  of these two medicines comes around  2 to 3 hrs after taking them. If the fever persists around 99.5 to 100 F   2 to 3 hrs after taking  one medicine  then give the second one.

Meftal P and paracetamol are different medicines. So not much gap is needed. Give paracetamol and wait for 1 hour. If fever does not decrease, you can give Meftal P. You can give maximum meftal P every 8 hours

Keep a gap of 6 hours, use meftal-p till high grade fever subsides, you need to see doctor if such fever persists for >2 days. In between the medication use normal water sponging to bring down temperature
