“In the last 3 years, I have received the rabies vaccine twice. The second time was about 6 months after the first, and since I had already been vaccinated, the doctor gave me only 2 booster doses instead of the full 4-dose course. Now, I had a minor incident with a dog — there was no bite, no bleeding, and no visible scratch. I only lightly bumped into the dog, and later felt slight itching on my skin, but I couldn’t find any injury or broken skin. I washed the area immediately. Given this history, I want to know if I need to take the rabies vaccine again, or if the previous vaccinations still provide protection.”
