Does Sertraline cause manic depression?

I have Social Anxiety, Depression and poor concentration problem. My Doctor prescribed me with Sertraline and I have been taking it for 1 week now. I feel over excited, energetic and loud speaking when I started to take Sertraline. Is it normal to feel like this during the initial stage? Will this go away after somedays? Thank you

There can be 2 things- either a hypomanic episode is being stimulated or you feel this way because anxiety is relieved . You should contact your psychiatrist immediately

Please do see your doctor again or inform him about this this could be due to medication or may be your switching over to the other side of mood spectrum , your psychiatrist is the best judge in such case as the information regarding dose of medications as well as other information needed to come to a conclusion is missing .
