Does Grade 3 chondromalacia need surgery

Got an mri for knee pain when putting pressure on knee like climbing stairs or prolonged sitting. MRI says grade 3 chondromalcia changes along lateral patellar facet with subchondral marrow edema, grade 1signal in posterior horn in medial meniscus,mild thinning of articular cartilage along the anterior and mid portion of medial femoral condyle and medial tibia plateau and mild knee joint effusion.

respected mam, At age of 36 if it is grade 4 to with chondral defect u may need Arthroscopy surgery.
Next Steps
it will be better if u visit any Arthroscopy and sports medicine specialist for clinical examination because  final openion can't be given on practo
