2020-03-25 08:47:25
I had a displaced tibia bone fracture in my left leg. Then, it was immobilized with a cast /plaster for the past 10weeks.Later , the cast was removed. The bone alignment is okay. The bones have reunion.I am able to lift up the leg from the bed to the floor without any support. But, the problem I'm having is that I cannot fold the knee without feeling pain. Also, the ankle is stiff, the foot is drop. QUESTION : (1)What can I do to recover from this problem? (2)It is up to 13th weeks, can I start doing physical therapy (3)When should I start using the leg to bear weight?.Please, advise me.

This is a common problem. Your can definitely bear weight and do physical therapy. More you will avoid using the leg more it will get worse. We need to rule out other associated problems apart from stiffness like edema, burning pain, change in temperature of fractured limb to rule out chronic regional pain syndrome. But till you show us continue exercising and bearing weight
