Hi Everyone, I’m reaching out for some guidance as I’m feeling extremely stressed and low. I’m a new mom to a 5-month-old baby and had a normal delivery. I had meniscus tear surgery 10 years ago and was advised to avoid high-impact activities, squatting, or sitting with folded legs due to ongoing wear and tear with small tear found out 3 years ago. Last week, I experienced severe lower back pain that left me unable to get out of bed or walk. After mri, got to know l4-l5 disc desiccation and disc bulge I’m really struggling emotionally — I can’t lift or care for my baby, and I’m still walking bent to one side with great difficulty getting out of bed. With my old knee issue and now this disc desiccation and bulge, I’m feeling hopeless. How do I manage this pain? Will I be able to recover and get back to normal life? Any tips or encouragement would mean a lot right now.

Your condition is completely manageable. Since your back pain is from 1 week Correct medication and prompt physiotherapy  is advised for 6 weeks. Do get examined for any muscle weakness and numbness, bowel bladder problems. Only persistent pain resistant to treatment after 6 weeks / progressing neural deficits / cauda equina syndrome will need surgery.
