Depression & Anger

I've known for a while now that I have severe depression, anxiety and am short tempered. Only reason so far I have not got myself medically treated is because I am worried about being addicted to any medication a psychiatrist would prescribe and would have to use it lifelong plus another reason I am also dyslexic and have ADHD (when I was diagnosed as a child). These issues are affecting my career and my relationship with my family is on a loose string. I need some help and move on to achieve greater things in life. How do I go about resolving my issues? Thanks in advance?

Hi. The earlier you treat depression and anxiety the better. And anti depressants do not cause dependence and addiction. See a psychiatrist at the earliest

Severe depression and anxiety will not respond to psychological methods. A pill or two can make your life much easier.  No you won't get addicted if medicine is given judiciously.

Hi, Please do meet with a psychotherapist. If your depression is severe , he/she may refer you to a psychiatrist. Sometimes you may need to take medication and get counselled. Not all medication is addictive.
